Artist statement

Merleau-Ponty writes, 鈥淢y body is the fabric into which all objects are woven.鈥 Yet what becomes of this fabric when the body no longer feels like one鈥檚 own?

Within those two lines, there is a threshold explores the metaphor of a liminal space, a threshold, to consider the experience of disembodiment.

How might the body be traced when it withdraws? Drawing and weaving work in tandem: on paper, my body inscribes its mark; through the loom, it guides fabric across the weft. Both gestures carry a tactile intimacy, a slow embodied resistance against disembodiment - weaving together what has been estranged.
