Sivaan's research's is contributing to a theory of creative resistance for diversifying perspectives and addressing repressive politics embedded in media and exercised in political sensibilities. Sivaan is looking into how female abstract artists can uncover new insights into this theory of creative resistance. Sivaan is also an artist who has exhibited work both nationally and internationally. She is interested in creative social research methodologies to support non-linear and rhizomatic thinking, and in the ability for artistic practices to integrate into policy and community development.
