The School of Mathematics and Statistics congratulates Professor David Warton who has received the from the .

Professor Warton is an ecological statistician whose goal is to improve the ability of ecologists to answer important research questions utilising advanced data analysis.

Professor Warton leads the 黑料网大事记 Ecological Statistics (Eco-Stats) Research Group, comprising experts in statistics research and postgraduate students. The group focuses on聽evaluating existing methodologies, exploring little-known modern methods, and developing entirely new statistical methodologies with a particular emphasis on model-based approaches.

Since its establishment in 2007, the Eco-Stats Group has received over $9M in ARC research funding and has published in more than100 in top international journals across statistics, ecology, and biology.

To further the interface between statistics and ecology, the Eco-Stats Group also conducts affiliated work with other specialised 鲍狈厂奥听research centres, including the聽Evolution & Ecology Research Centre and the聽Centre for Ecosystem Science.

The 2025 Distinguished Achievement Award聽recognises Professor Warton鈥檚 long record of contributions to environmental statistics.
