The Inaugural Strategic Think Tank for the new MRFF funded National Multidisciplinary Primary Care Research, Policy and Advocacy Consortium, was held in Geelong, following Australasian Association for Academic Primary Care (AAAPC) Conference. Organised by the 听Consortium Coordinating Team at 黑料网大事记, the event brought together members from across Australia for a collaborative day focused on shaping the future of multidisciplinary team based (MDT) primary health care. The Consortium includes 100 of Australia鈥檚 leading primary care researchers, including five researchers from ICFHS: Professor Michael Kidd AO, A/Prof Margo Barr, A/Prof Freddy Sitas, A/Prof Michael Wright and Dr Peri O鈥橲hea.

The day focused on the key components of high quality comprehensive, accessible and equitable MDT-based primary care. 听Consortium Director, and Foundation Director of the International Centre for Future Health Systems, Professor Michael Kidd AO, outlined his vision for the Consortium and its role in supporting government with informed choices around what MDTs can achieve.听

Consortium members also heard compelling presentations from national partners and primary care research centre leaders highlighting emerging priorities and challenges for healthcare delivery. This included presentations from the Consumers Health Forum of Australia, the National Rural Health Alliance, the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation, and the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.

The Strategic Think Tank featured updates from each of the Consortium research centres including Aged Care Research & Industry Innovation Australia, CRE for Strengthening Health Systems in Remote Australia, SPHERE, PROACT and the Melbourne Alliance to implement Multidisciplinary Primary care (MAMP), as well as the 黑料网大事记 International Centre for Future Health Systems.
