Embryoid Bodies
    Description
Using specialised media, EBs are created spontaneously by culturing small numbers of pluripotent stem cells in suspension using a round-bottom culture ware.
These three-dimensional aggregates mimic early embryonic development and provide an in vitro system for studying differentiation into the three germ layers: ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm. EBs are widely used to test pluripotency, produce cells of multiple lineages and to initiate the differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into defined lineages (e.g., cerebral organoids).
