Bo Qu is an experienced industry engagement executive with 9+ years of experience across Australia’s higher education and innovation sectors. He currently serves as Industry Engagement Executive and Institute Manager at ºÚÁÏÍø´óʼǒs Materials & Manufacturing Futures Institute (MMFI), where he drives strategic research translation and partnerships across renewable energy, advanced materials, and manufacturing technologies.

At MMFI, Bo has attracted A$16 million+ in industry investment and delivered flagship projects with major partners. His portfolio spans 22 new industry collaborations and 12 seed-funded initiatives, alongside ongoing management of research translation, commercialisation and stakeholder engagement.

He holds both a Bachelor’s and a postgraduate research degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of New South Wales, along with a Certificate IV in Business and a NAATI certificate. Earlier in his career as a research associate, he published 17 peer-reviewed papers focused on wet-chemical nanomaterials synthesis, thin-film fabrication, and advanced coatings. Now in a professional staff role, he draws on an earlier research background (Scopus h-index 15) as the technical foundation for his practice.
