
Dr Dadong Wang
Dr Dadong Wang is a Conjoint Professor at the University of New South Wales (ºÚÁÏÍø´óʼÇ), a Senior Principal Research Scientist & the Leader of Imaging and Computer Vision Research Group (ICVG), part of the CSIRO Data61. With over 70 people based at Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney, Australia, the group comprises Research Scientists and Engineers, Postdoctoral Fellows, PhD Students and Visiting Scientists. ICVG has extensive experience and a track record in developing end-to-end imaging and computer vision solutions and via collaboration with innovation partners bring them to the market.
Dadong is also an adjunct Professor at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). Prior to joining the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in 2005, he had worked for two multinational companies for six years, developing large intelligent systems for monitoring and control. His main research interests include image analysis, computer vision, artificial intelligence, machine learning, signal processing and software engineering. He has been developing intelligent solutions for scientific and industrial applications, with the aim of increasing both quality and quantity of information extracted from multi-dimensional image data.
Dadong has published over 150 research papers, book chapters and reports. His research team has been the recipient of Research Achievement Awards by CSIRO, the Engineering Excellence Award by Engineers Australia, the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA), National iAwards, NSW, Queensland and ACT iAwards. He is a senior member of the IEEE.
