- Doctor of Philosophy (2010): The University of Adelaide.ÌýThesis: Spatially fixed and moving virtual sensing methods for active noise control.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronic) (2005): The University of Adelaide.ÌýFirst class honours
Danielle Moreau is an Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at ºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç Sydney and a leader in experimental aeroacoustics. She works to understand and control how sound is generated when turbulent flows interact with engineering components, including wing trailing edges, bluff bodies, fins, junction flows, and blade–vortex interactions. She has made transformative contributions to noise control across naval and aerospace platforms (airframe components, UAV propellers, underwater vehicles), industrial machinery, transportation, medical devices and energy systems. A/Prof Moreau is the recipient of multiple awards including a University of Adelaide Doctoral Research Medal (awarded to the highest quality theses (in the top 3%) examined each year), an ARC DECRA, NSW Young Tall Poppy Science Award and the inauguralÌýAustralasian Fluid Mechanics Society Emerging Leader Award. She isÌýthe co-author of two textbooks: 'Active Control of Noise and Vibration' (Taylor and Francis) and 'Flow Noise: Theory' (Springer) and serves as Chief Editor of Acoustics Australia (2022 - 2025), Editor of Applied Acoustics (2023 - present), Australian representative on the AIAA Aeroacoustics Technical Committee and Board Member of the International Council of Acoustics.
A/Prof Moreau obtained her BE(hons) and PhD from the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Adelaide in 2005 and 2010, respectively. Following PhD completion, she was employed as a postdoctoral research associate in the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Adelaide for five years. In 2013, she was named the Fulbright Scholar for South Australia to conduct a research program at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VA USA). In January of 2015, A/Prof Moreau joined the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at ºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç in the position of lecturer, where she was promoted to Senior Lecturer in July 2019 and Associate Professor in January 2023.Ìý
