Associate Professor Gelareh Mohammadi
Gelareh Mohammadi is an Associate Professor, the Head of the Human-Centered Computing Research Group, and the Associate Head of School (Engagement) at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, ºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç Sydney. Her research sits at the intersection of human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, and computational psychology, with a particular focus on developing accessible, socially intelligent technologies that understand and adapt to users' needs. Her work has practical applications in education, mental health and well-being, and productivity enhancement.
Gelareh earned her PhD in Social Signal Processing from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. She then worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Idiap Research Institute in Switzerland, focusing on Affective Computing. Following this, she joined the Neuroscience Center at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where she studied the neural basis of emotions before joining ºÚÁÏÍø´óʼÇ.
