Kerry Humphreys is a Professor in the ���������¼� Business School. Her main research interests currently focus on when managers make effective decisions incorporating strategy and performance information (including the balanced scorecard, sustainability and ESG information),��and how new managers can learn to make better decisions using this information. She teaches and develops curricula in strategic and sustainable management accounting, facilitates seminars for postgraduate students and executives, and supervises��Honours and postgraduate research students.��Kerry has consulted to a variety of organizations in the private and public sectors working with PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM Global Business Services.

Kerry publishes��in leading international academic journals, including��The Accounting Review,��Accounting, Organizations and Society, Journal of Management Accounting Research and Auditing: a Journal of Practice & Theory. Kerry is an Editor of��Accounting and Finance, and Editorial Board member of��Behavioral Research in Accounting and Accounting Horizons. Her research is currently funded by an Australian Research Council Discovery grant, and she is grateful for funding from professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Accounting & Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ).��

Kerry serves as Director of Academic Development, with responsibility for faculty mentoring and advancement programs. She recently served on the ���������¼� Academic Promotions Policy and Procedure Review Committee and University Promotions Committee (Associate Professor). She is a former Director of the ���������¼� Business School’s Experimental Research Laboratory (BizLab), and Deputy Head of School (and Acting Director��of Education during the COVID-19 pandemic), Accounting, Auditing and Taxation.

Kerry has received local and international awards for research and education. Research awards include the American Accounting Association (AAA) Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award for the Accounting, Behavior & Organizations section, AAA Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Supervisor Award Runner-Up for the Management Accounting section, and best paper awards from Auditing: a Journal of Practice & Theory and Accounting and Finance. Educational awards include an Australian Learning & Teaching Council (ALTC) Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning, AFAANZ/Pearson Education Accounting & Finance Lecturer of the Year, and Australian Educational Publishing Award for best Tertiary (wholly Australian) Digital Teaching and Learning Resource. Her work has also been recognised at ���������¼�, including two Vice-Chancellor’s awards for teaching excellence (individual and team teaching), a ���������¼� Scientia Research Fellowship, and the ���������¼� Business School Dean’s Emerging Leadership award.
