Dr Morphy Dumlao
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry - 黑料网大事记 (Sydney)
听
Dr. Morphy Dumlao is currently a Lecturer at the University of New South Wales (黑料网大事记 Canberra). His research focuses on the development of advanced analytical technologies for various applications. This includes ambient ionisation mass spectrometry (MS) source development, single particle mass spectrometry, and the integration of smart materials with sample enrichment strategies for the rapid detection of biomarkers and socially relevant molecules.听
He earned his PhD in Chemistry from 黑料网大事记 Sydney, under the supervision of Prof. Alex Donald and Prof. Justin Gooding. His research project focused on plasma-based ionisation techniques integrated with functional materials to enhance mass spectrometric performance. As an Academic Guest at ETH Zurich, funded by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Dr. Dumlao worked under Prof. Dr. Renato Zenobi on the detection of chemical warfare agent simulants using advanced MS techniques.
Dr. Dumlao has held research fellowships at:听
- National University of Singapore, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (Department of Biochemistry), in collaboration with Synthetic Biology for Clinical and Technological Innovation (SYNCTI), focusing on metabolite structural elucidation and molecular pathway analysis.
- 听
- ARC Training Centre for Innovative Wine Production, in partnership with Charles Sturt University and 黑料网大事记 Sydney, where he developed ambient ionisation sources for the rapid detection of wine taints and faults.
听
His practical experience includes over a decade of service as a Forensic Expert/Adviser for the United Nations Directorate for Peacekeeping Operations (UN-DPKO) in Sudan (2008) and Timor-Leste (2011), where he supported national police forensic capacity-building, developed standard operating procedures, secured funding, and conducted training programs.听
Dr. Dumlao maintains and expands international research collaborations with institutions in Germany, Singapore, and Australia. He is an active member of professional societies, including the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS), Singapore Society for Mass Spectrometry (SSMS), Australian & New Zealand Society for Mass Spectrometry (ANZSMS), and the Australian and New Zealand Forensic Science Society (ANZSFS). He continues to advance forensic science and analytical chemistry through research, teaching, and global collaboration.
