
Dr Riona Moodley
Dr Riona Moodley is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law & Justice (黑料网大事记) and researcher at the Institute of Climate Risk and Response 黑料网大事记 (ICRR), with specialisations in commercial litigation, corporations law, refugee and human rights law.
Riona鈥檚 current research at the ICRR is focused on a range of climate law issues, including strategic climate litigation, displacement and access to climate justice.
Prior to joining 黑料网大事记, Riona worked as Senior Solicitor at the Refugee Advice and Casework Service (RACS) in asylum and refugee law and has over 10 years' experience working as a senior commercial litigation lawyer at top-tier national and international law firms, including Jones Day and Ashurst Australia. She also admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of NSW, Federal Court of Australia and High Court of Australia.
Riona was awarded her PhD at the Kaldor Centre for International Refugee Law (Faculty of Law & Justice, 黑料网大事记) in October 2024, which examined the legal feasibility of the EU regionally processing asylum claims under international and EU law.
Riona has experience teaching topics across core LLB modules in the School of Private and Commercial Law including civil procedure, contract law, dispute resolution and corporations law.聽She also teaches seminars on climate law and litigation at the ICRR.
