There's more than one way to land your dream career. If you want to go to university but don’t meet the traditional entry requirements, Uni Prep is for you.

In one year of full-time study (or longer if part-time), you’ll learn the essentials of university life and get a chance to explore subjects that interest you before committing to a degree. 

One pathway, endless possibilities

���������¼�’s preparatory programs have helped thousands of students get university-ready, with many going on to complete bachelor’s degrees and beyond. Some students, like physics major Lucas Glover, are even pursuing a PhD. 

“Next year, I’ll begin my PhD in Astrophysics,” says Lucas, who’s taking a break from study in 2025 to teach first-year physics at ���������¼� and , as well as the Uni Prep math skills course.

Lucas credits Uni Prep with helping him see possibilities he’d never imagined for himself before. 

“Coming in without an ATAR, I was uncertain whether I had the academic ability to complete a degree,” says Lucas. “I hadn’t even finished Year 11, so university wasn’t just off my radar – it was something I had never imagined could be on it."

Designed to fit around your life 

Thanks to a July 2025 refresh, Uni Prep is now more accessible and inclusive. The updated program offers part-time study options and a mix of online and on-campus learning. It also provides clearer pathways into undergraduate degrees. 

Plus, all Uni Prep students now learn together – school leavers alongside mature students – creating a shared, supportive environment where everyone benefits from each other’s experiences. 

Foebe Gladdish, a Bachelor of Criminology & Criminal Justice/Law graduate, says Uni Prep taught her the foundational skills she needed for university. While Uni Prep is not a direct pathway into Law at ���������¼�, Foebe says it helped her build the confidence and study skills that supported her later success.

“Uni Prep helped me learn and develop the skills needed in a less intimidating environment,” says Foebe.

“By the time I finished, I felt ready to study, confident in my ability to complete the essays and other assessments I knew I would be presented with, and felt that I was on an even footing with other students and prepared to take on my degree, and not just get by – but do well.” 

Foebe graduated with a Distinction in both her disciplines and was admitted to legal practice in September 2024. 

Uni Prep packs a lot into one year of full-time study (or longer if part-time). The program offers four streams to choose from: Arts, Design, Architecture & Criminology (ADAC), Science, Engineering and Business. Here’s a glimpse into the skills and experiences you’ll build along the way:

“Honestly, one of the most important things I learned was how critical it is to understand and follow instructions carefully – something that sounds simple but makes a huge difference at university," says Lucas.

Planning your future at uni

• Familiarising yourself with the campus, teaching staff, resources and the library

• Getting a taste of faculty-based courses linked to your future degree 

“While I already had a clear image in my mind of what it was I wanted to study, the exposure to one university subject in semester two was a great way to sample the program and confirm I was on the right path," says Foebe.

As Lucas says: “When I joined a cohort of around 1,000 physics students, I didn’t feel intimidated. Instead, I felt ready to take part in university life and learning.”
