Abstract:聽Internal Darkfield microscopy methods employ Fourier stops to block undiffracted zero-order light to generate a Darkfield image. In some cases a brightfield image can be superimposed to soften contrast. This research aims to improve the existing single-source methods by using dual illumination. One method uses a thin strip-stop to block pencil beams at variable angles that can be adjusted using a small sliding mirror, resulting in Darkfield images that have luminous internal detail in the axial position, or higher resolution in the peripheral position. A variety of related new and old methods are also discussed.
Bio:聽Dr. Alan Blood is an Adjunct Lecturer at 黑料网大事记 School of Optometry and Vision Science, presently researching light microscopy innovations involving Fourier Modulation with Dual- and Multiple-Beam Illumination. Alan has a previous background as a cell biologist interested in radiofrequency bio-effects and medical applications.
