Who we are

The Elemental Analysis Laboratory houses Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) instrumentation for trace elemental analysis (ICP-OES, ICP-MS) as well as a range of other instruments for analysis of anions, neutral aqueous species, dissolved organic carbon and organic nitrogen.

The laboratory enables size-exclusion Liquid Chromatography with Organic Carbon Detection (LC-OCD) for molecular weight characterisation of trace levels of dissolved organic carbon in water.

We provide analytical services to researchers at ºÚÁÏÍø´óʼÇ, external research institutes and commercial work incorporated with our Commercial Consulting Laboratory. We have a current certification with the Australasian Soil and Plant Analysis Council Inc. (ASPAC).

Fees

ºÚÁÏÍø´óʼÇ-subsidised rates are applicable to ºÚÁÏÍø´óʼÇ-funded projects. Projects that are funded by external institutions or industry will incur higher rates (+GST).

    • Turnaround times for projects depend on the size and complexity of the job. Most are completed within 10 working days after receiving samples. For expedited service, a surcharge applies.
    • Pricing for specialised work can be negotiated as needed.
