Discover a distinctive education at ºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç Law & Justice

´¡³ÙÌýºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç Law & Justice, we provide a genuinely unique undergraduate law experience. For over 50 years, we have pioneered and sustained an approach to legal education that prepares students for professional success by challenging and supporting them to engage in critical thinking and dynamic discussion about law’s history, operation in practice and potential application to contemporary issues.

Our faculty is also home to undergraduate study in Criminology & Criminal Justice, which offers a critical, real-world exploration of crime, justice, and social change. Students engage with diverse perspectives and practical experiences to understand how justice systems impact communities and shape society.

Our programs do not stop at the construction and communication of expert knowledge. We have a further responsibility to be voices in defence of the rule of law and in support of reform towards a more equitable and just world. We instil in our students this spirit of critical engagement and sense of responsibility to prepare them for a meaningful professional life that includes contribution and service.

We’re committed to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment where every student can thrive. Programs like the Gateway Plus Program,Ìýpeer mentoring and our dedicated careers service ensure students from all backgrounds feel supported and prepared for life beyond university.

ºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç Law & Justice programs

Bachelor of Laws (LLB)

Our Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program is known for its distinctive teaching style. Unlike the large-scale lecture-tutorial format common across universities, our students learn exclusively in seminar-style classes. With typically around 44 students in a class, discussion, debate and critical thinking are central to the learning process.

I was drawn to ºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç because of its unique approach to teaching Law. Instead of large lectures and tutorials, classes are based on discussion in smaller groups where your professor knows your name.

Bachelor of Criminology & Criminal Justice (BCCJ)

The Bachelor of Criminology & Criminal Justice (BCCJ) is an equally unique program that is offered in partnership with the School of Social Sciences in the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture. Critically exploring the complexity of crime policy and practice, the program centres voices often excluded from academic settings, such as people with lived experience of the criminal legal system, First Nations peoples, reformers and practitioners.

Students also engage with legal scholarship and criminal law to develop an interdisciplinary understanding of justice. The program includes training in research methods and policy, along with work-integrated learning opportunities that build practical skills and real-world experience.
