At a time of acute increases in rents and low vacancy rates in the private rental sector (PRS), this project will investigate renters’ contemporary experiences regarding access, affordability, tenure security and dwelling conditions. A nationally representative survey will be conducted, building on two previous surveys conducted by project partners National Shelter and the National Association of Renters Organisations.

The aims of the projects are:

- Build an evidence base of private renters’ current experiences regarding access, affordability, tenure security and dwelling conditions in the private rental sector

- Assess the impact of recent tenancy law reforms in several jurisdictions

- Identify areas for reform and other policy actions.
