Biography:

Pia Seeto is the Head of Planning & Reporting for Technology at TPG Telecom. She works with the Technology Executives to form the technology strategy for the services TPG Telecom provides to the community. She is Alumni of ºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç Computer Engineering and chairs the Industry Advisory Board for the School for Computer Science and Engineering. She was awarded the ºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç Women in Engineering, Dr Judy Raper Award in 2014.

Biography:

"Victor Rodrigues is the Vice President of Connected Care Platforms, Architecture & Partnerships at Cochlear Limited, where he has been for 23 years. With over 30 years of experience in software design and development, he is passionate about user-centred design and driving innovation in regulated environments.

Victor has led the development of medical-grade mobile applications and cloud-based solutions, including Apple MFi and Android-compatible audio streaming for Cochlear implant systems. These technologies have delivered significant value to both end users and clinicians, blending cutting-edge capability with clinical rigour.

He is also a co-author of a publication on applying Agile methods to medical device software and is a strong advocate for bringing modern software engineering practices to the medtech space.

Victor serves as an advisor to Synchron, a pioneering neurotechnology company developing a brain-computer interface designed to restore digital communication for people with paralysis.

In his spare time, he still enjoys getting his hands into code. Once an active instrument-rated private pilot, Victor has temporarily traded the skies for strategy meetings—though his license remains ready should life ease off the controls."

Biography:

Professor Sarah Kummerfeld Garvan’s Chief Scientific Officer. She oversees the institute's scientific platforms leveraging genomics, single-cell technology, data science, imaging, antibody engineering and clinical translation to understand human disease and translate findings into clinical diagnostics and treatments. Professor Kummerfeld’s background is in computational biology. She completed her PhD in Computational Biology at the University of Cambridge and postdoctoral research at Stanford University before a 10 year stint at biotech company, Genentech.

Rob Pike worked from 1980-2002 at Bell Labs Computing Sciences Research, then until 2021 at Google designing and building systems and infrastructure. He is co-designer and co-implementer of Plan 9, UTF-8, and the Go programming language.

David co-founded Metamako, a leading supplier of networking hardware, built specifically for the financial trading industry. These network devices have very low latency, and very precise timing. Metamako was acquired by Arista Networks, a major supplier of Ethernet network switching equipment to hyper scale cloud customers, including AI networking. Following his tenure at Arista, David consults and advises startup companies like MP Space, building energy systems for space, and Timebeat, building innovative clock synchronisation solutions.
