Our goal
To design, implement, and evaluate interactive systems that enhance the way people engage with technology, making those interactions more meaningful, efficient, and accessible.
Description
Our approach is grounded in human-centred design and draws on interdisciplinary methods to deeply understand user needs, behaviours, and experiences. Insights gained from this research inform the creation of intuitive, inclusive, and impactful digital tools and interfaces. This research focus brings together experts from a wide range of disciplines, including computer science, human-centred AI, affective computing, cognitive robotics, psychology, education, and assistive technologies. By combining technical innovation with insights from the social and behavioural sciences, we strive to develop systems that are not only technologically advanced but also ethically responsible and contextually aware. One particular area of interest is educational technology, where we apply HCI principles to design engaging, inclusive, adaptive, and effective learning environments. This includes exploring how emerging technologies, such as AI-driven personalisation, immersive media (AR/VR), and learning analytics, can support diverse learners, promote equitable access to education, and foster deeper, more active learning experiences.
