We're grateful for your interest in our research.
Alzheimer鈥檚 disease and other dementias are reaching epidemic proportions in Australia and internationally. With an ageing population and at least half of the people in Australian nursing homes with dementia, we need high level research to facilitate long-term change. The Directors of CHeBA, Professor Perminder Sachdev and Professor Henry Brodaty, are internationally recognized for their contribution to research in brain ageing.
Funding is desperately required to advance our research in ways to prevent cognitive decline, improve cognitive functioning as we age, devise better care for people with dementia and to diagnose people at risk for dementia. CHeBA鈥檚 researchers are also working on developing markers of early decline in memory and other functioning, so that brain diseases may be detected before the manifestation of dementia.
Ways to support
In 2025, Wipeout Dementia celebrates its 10-year anniversary with an exciting move from Bondi Beach to URBNSURF Sydney, marking a decade of impact in dementia research and community engagement.
The Dementia Momentum庐
The Dementia Momentum庐 is a movement to bring researchers and the corporate and philanthropic community together to change the future of dementia incidence.
Brain donation
CHeBA has an established brain tissue donation program which operates in collaboration with the Sydney Brain Bank (part of the Australian Brain Bank Network).
Gifts in Wills
Leaving a gift in your will to CHeBA is a powerful way to support research into Alzheimer鈥檚 and other dementias鈥攁t no cost to you now. Your legacy will help protect future generations worldwide.
