When travelling abroad, you must remain vigilant, know what to do in an emergency and look after your wellbeing.

How will you keep yourself safe while overseas?
Your safety and wellbeing are important. Read on for advice on staying safe during critical incidents, natural disasters and more.聽
You are responsible for preparing, understanding any risks associated with your program and taking care of your safety and wellbeing. It's important to be flexible, stay informed and have a contingency plan, as things can change quickly.聽

- Stay up to date with the travel status of places you visit. Monitor , and the for updates and travel advice.聽
- When you arrive at your destination country, register with your nearest government representative and your host university.聽
- Keep your contact and location details up to date on and the International SOS app. You can use the app to let us know if you travel somewhere outside your original plans. This will ensure you receive any critical safety information related to your location.聽聽

黑料网大事记 relies on advice from International SOS and DFAT for travel-related matters. If a warning is issued for the country you are in and 黑料网大事记 deems it unsafe for you to stay, you must leave as soon as possible.聽
Ensure you have the International SOS app on your phone for quick access to travel security alerts.聽In the case of a critical incident, you must follow the advice of International SOS.
In the event of an emergency or if you need immediate assistance, contact聽聽on +61 2 9372 2468 or via the app.聽
You must also inform:
- The International Office at your host university
- The 黑料网大事记 Exchange team (if you are on an exchange program)
- Your 黑料网大事记 faculty (if you are on a faculty short program)
- The or your personal insurance provider.
If the incident occurs after hours, you can also contact on +61 2 9385 6666. State clearly to the control room operator that you are a 黑料网大事记 student currently overseas in need of assistance.聽
If you are robbed or mugged, you should report this to local police and the Australian Diplomatic Mission, who will be able to provide you with information.聽

If an earthquake, typhoon, tornado, tsunami or other unforeseen natural disaster occurs, you should follow the critical incident advice above. You should also make contact with the local Australian Diplomatic Mission.聽
If 黑料网大事记 or the Australian Government determines that travel to a host country should be cancelled, your exchange or travel will be suspended and you should follow the advice provided to you. This may mean returning home immediately.聽

If you are feeling isolated and unwell, we encourage you to speak with a counsellor or health service at your host university.
