A Joint Initiative to Support Migrant and Refugee Women Health Innovators in South West Sydney
New philanthropic funding will back South West Sydney’s next generation of health innovators – especially migrant and refugee women entrepreneurs – thanks to a new partnership between ºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç Founders, and JEINA (Justice Inclusion Access).
The region’s first dedicated health entrepreneurship program will provide local founders with funding, mentorship, and pathways into Australia’s leading innovation programs – ensuring they have the resources to grow and thrive.
World Refugee Day 2024
Every minute, 30 people are forcibly displaced due to conflict, disaster or persecution – half of them children, who face significantly reduced access to education. As global displacement reaches record levels, World Refugee Day (20 June) offers a moment to honour the resilience of those forced to flee and to spotlight initiatives driving change. At ºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç Sydney, the Justice Inclusion Access (JEINA) pilot project exemplifies this commitment. Led by Dr Parisa Glass, Dr Elnaz Irannezhad and Sherine Al Shalah, JEINA supports women from refugee and forced migration backgrounds through tailored mentorships, scholarships, leadership training and access to ºÚÁÏÍø´óÊÂ¼Ç systems and networks. On this day, we celebrate the JEINA team’s lived experience and leadership in shaping a more inclusive future.
